Who We Are

Fable Innovations LLC ("Fable Innovations", "we", "us") is a software consulting company based in Texas. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use and protect it across everything we operate:

  • our website at fableinnovations.com;
  • Fable AI on the website and in the client portal, the assistant we host that answers questions about our services and your projects;
  • the Fable AI desktop application, a local-first workspace for macOS and Windows where AI agents work inside your repositories on your own machine;
  • our client portal at portal.fableinnovations.com;
  • our consulting services.

It does not cover third-party websites or services we link to or that you connect to Fable AI, which have their own privacy policies.

Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, book a call, chat with Fable AI, apply for a job, create a Fable AI account, or use the client portal, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, company name, job title, the content of your messages, and any files you upload such as a resume.

Information collected automatically on the website. When you visit our website we collect standard technical information: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected through server logs and the analytics service described below. The desktop application does not collect analytics; see the desktop section for exactly what it sends us.

Information from clients. During a consulting engagement, clients may share business data, documents, and system access with us so we can do the work. That information is governed by the statement of work or service agreement for the engagement, which controls over this policy where the two differ.

We do not knowingly collect payment card numbers through our website or the desktop application. Payments are handled by a payment provider under its own terms or under the applicable service agreement.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to your inquiries and schedule calls you request;
  • deliver consulting services and communicate with you about your project;
  • operate Fable AI, the desktop application, and the client portal, including signing you in and confirming your license;
  • evaluate job applications;
  • understand how our website is used so we can improve it;
  • protect our website and systems from abuse, including enforcing rate limits;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Fable AI on Our Website and Client Portal

The Fable AI assistant on our website and inside the client portal is hosted by us. When you chat with it, your messages are sent to our servers and to a large language model to generate a reply. The models are Anthropic Claude models hosted on Amazon Web Services through Amazon Bedrock. Under the Bedrock service terms, your conversations are not used to train the underlying models, and we do not use them to train models of our own.

On the public website, your conversation is kept in your browser's session storage so the chat can continue as you move between pages, and it clears when you close the browser tab. If you share contact details with Fable AI to book a meeting, those details and a short summary of the conversation are saved to our customer relationship records so a person can follow up.

In the client portal, Fable AI answers questions using only your company's own project records. It does not have access to records belonging to other clients.

Fable AI can make mistakes. Do not rely on it for legal, financial, or medical advice, and avoid sharing sensitive personal information in chat that is not needed to answer your question.

Fable AI Desktop Application

The Fable AI desktop application is built local-first. Your conversations, documents, settings, project boards, agent activity, task records, learned patterns, user memory, calendar data, search indexes, voice samples, logs, and crash reports are stored on your own computer and are not synced to or stored on our servers. The application contains no analytics or telemetry software, crash reports are never uploaded, and there is no feature that sends your logs to us.

What the application does send to us. Exactly four things reach servers we operate:

  • Sign-in. You sign in through our identity service at auth.fableinnovations.com, which holds your email address, name, password, and any multi-factor or passkey credentials you set up. Sign-in happens in your system browser, and your session token is stored on your device encrypted with your operating system's keychain.
  • License checks. The application confirms your license with licensing.fableinnovations.com using your session token, about once a minute while online, and keeps working for up to 30 days offline. It sends no hardware identifier, machine fingerprint, or usage data. Our licensing records hold your account identifier, email address, license terms, and, when you redeem a license claim code, a hash of that code rather than the code itself.
  • Update checks. The application checks downloads.fableinnovations.com for updates with anonymous requests that carry no account information.
  • Fable company tools. Fable Innovations staff can optionally connect the application to our internal tools server at mcp.fableinnovations.com. This applies only to our own employees.

AI model providers you choose. The desktop application does not route your work through an AI model that we run. You pick the model provider, and the application sends your content directly to it under that provider's terms and privacy policy. Supported providers include your Anthropic Claude or OpenAI Codex subscription, the Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini APIs with your own API key, OpenRouter, and fully local engines such as Ollama, LM Studio, MLX, llama.cpp, and vLLM. Depending on what you ask, the content sent to your chosen provider can include chat messages, source code and files from the repositories you point agents at, documents, calendar and email content, transcribed speech, and screen text. If you choose a local engine, that content never leaves your machine. Your API keys and provider credentials are stored in an encrypted vault on your device.

Voice. Voice conversation uses your microphone. By default, speech is transcribed and synthesized by engines that run on your computer. If you select a remote speech provider such as ElevenLabs, an OpenAI-compatible speech endpoint, or Microsoft Edge voices, the audio or text for that step is sent to that provider. You can create a custom voice by recording a short sample. Samples and the voices built from them stay on your device.

Meetings. You can have an assistant join a Google Meet call as its own signed-in participant. The assistant listens to the other participants in order to reply, transcribes what it hears through your selected speech engine, and keeps the transcribed exchange as conversation history on your device. It does not record meeting audio or video to a file, and your own camera, microphone, and screen are never exposed to the meeting. You are responsible for telling other participants that an AI assistant is present and for complying with any recording or consent laws that apply to your meetings.

Screen and audio recall. On Windows, you can optionally install a recall feature that captures your screen and audio, transcribes and indexes it, and lets you search and summarize your own activity. That library is device-local only. Recordings, transcripts, screen text, indexes, summaries, and memories are never synced to or stored on our servers. If you pair it with a remote AI provider, individual images, text, or audio clips may be sent to that provider to answer a request. You can purge the recall library at any time from the application.

Your choices in the application. You can sign out, clear chat history, disconnect any connected account, and remove installed features together with their data. Uninstalling the application leaves your local data folder in place so you can reinstall without losing work. To remove it, delete the Fable AI folder in your operating system's application data directory. To delete your Fable AI account and licensing records, email us at the address below.

Connected Accounts and Google User Data

The desktop application can connect, at your request, to accounts you already hold with Google, Microsoft, Slack, GitHub, Atlassian, Notion, Amazon Web Services, and Azure, and to any third-party tool server you configure. Each connection asks only for the permissions the feature needs, stores its access token in the encrypted vault on your device, and can be disconnected at any time. Tokens are never sent to our servers and are never shared with the AI agents themselves, which receive short-lived credentials only for the moment they need them.

When you connect a Google account, the application may request permission to read, organize, draft, and send Gmail messages, to read and manage your Google Calendar, and to read Google Drive files or files you choose. This data is used only to provide the features you turn on, such as triaging mail, drafting replies, and scheduling, and is stored only on your device. It is sent to a third party only when you ask an assistant to work with it using an AI provider you selected, and it is never used for advertising, sold, or used to train models. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke the application's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

Client Portal

The client portal is available by invitation to our clients. To use it we collect your name, email address, and company, and we keep records of the projects, documents, messages, tickets, and status updates shared there. Portal access is limited to members of your company and Fable Innovations staff working on your account.

When you file a bug or feature request through the portal and your company has connected a GitHub repository, the request is created as an issue in that repository, where it is subject to GitHub's privacy policy. Documents such as signed statements of work are stored in access-controlled cloud storage and served through short-lived links.

Portal users can control which email notifications they receive from their portal settings.

Careers

When you apply for a role, we collect your contact details, a verification code sent to your email or phone to confirm it is you, your resume, and an optional note. We use this information only to evaluate your application and communicate with you about it. We keep applications for a reasonable period after a role is filled in case a similar position opens, unless you ask us to delete yours sooner.

Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics on our website to understand how visitors use it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, and device and browser details. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by disabling cookies in your browser.

Beyond analytics, the website uses browser storage only for functional purposes, such as keeping your Fable AI conversation across pages and remembering notification preferences in the portal. We do not use advertising cookies. The desktop application uses no analytics or advertising technology of any kind.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of service providers to run our website and business. They process your information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:

  • Amazon Web Services hosts our website, portal, databases, identity and licensing services, software downloads, and the hosted Fable AI assistant, including its language models through Amazon Bedrock.
  • Google provides website analytics, our email and calendar, and the booking page used to schedule calls.
  • Web3Forms and hCaptcha deliver our contact form and protect it from automated abuse.
  • GitHub receives portal tickets when a client has connected a repository.
  • DocuSign handles electronic signature of agreements.

AI model providers, speech providers, and accounts you connect to the desktop application are chosen by you and act under their own terms; they are not our service providers.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described above. Contact inquiries and Fable AI leads are kept while we have an active or prospective business relationship with you. Client project records are kept for the duration of the engagement and for a period afterward to meet our contractual and legal obligations. Fable AI account and licensing records are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after it closes. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings. Data stored by the desktop application on your device is under your control and is kept until you delete it; local diagnostic logs are pruned automatically after seven days. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to the exceptions below.

Security

We protect your information with access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, per-client data isolation in the portal, invitation-only accounts, and rate limits on public endpoints. In the desktop application, credentials are kept in an encrypted local vault that AI agents cannot reach, agents run in isolated containers with only the files they need, and secret values are scrubbed from agent-visible output. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.

Your Rights and Choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, including your Fable AI account, or to stop contacting you, by emailing info@fableinnovations.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in any case within the period required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may retain information where the law requires it or where we need it to complete a contract with you.

If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act may give you additional rights, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. If you are located in a jurisdiction with its own privacy law, such as the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have similar rights, and you can exercise them through the same email address.

We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because there is no common standard for them. We do not engage in targeted advertising.

Children

Our website, applications, and services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International Visitors

We are based in the United States and process information here. If you use our website or applications from outside the United States, the information we receive will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will post a notice on the website or contact you directly where appropriate. Continued use of our website, applications, or services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
